Scottie Scheffler will be paired alongside Si Woo Kim and Brooks Koepka for the first two rounds of the CJ Cup Byron Nelson this week.

Scheffler won the CJ Cup Byron Nelson at a canter last year, and he will be hopeful of defending his crown this week at TPC Craig Ranch.

Si Woo Kim finished in a tie for 15th last year, and he heads into the tournament with five top-6 finishes to his name on the PGA Tour this season.

Koepka is excited to play with Scheffler and Si Woo at the CJ Cup, and it will be a great group for fans at TPC Craig Ranch to follow this week.

Scottie Scheffler is the world’s best golfer, so Si Woo Kim and Brooks Koepka will be hoping to learn something from the Dallas native at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson this week.

It would be no surprise at all if the winner of the CJ Cup came from that group on Sunday.

Scheffler plays a lot of golf with Si Woo, so he’s very familiar with the South Korean’s golf game.

During his press conference on Wednesday, the world number one was asked to share his thoughts on being paired with his friend Si Woo Kim this week.

Getting to play with Si Woo is always a real treat, Scheffler responded.

Si Woo is a great competitor. He’s one of the most talented players we have out here on TOUR, and he’s a lot of fun to be around as well.

We play a lot of golf in the Dallas area here in our off weeks and love to compete with each other. I feel like we have a lot of fun. So it will be great getting out with him in competition again.

Scottie Scheffler’s comments should be a huge boost for Si Woo Kim

Si Woo Kim is unquestionably a hugely talented player.

However, for Scheffler to suggest that he’s ‘one of the most talented players on TOUR’ is quite something.

What a boost of confidence that will be for the 30-year-old South Korean star.

His iron play is truly exceptional, and he is ranked sixth in strokes gained approach on the PGA Tour this season.

Si Woo is ranked 19th in strokes gained off the tee but it is his putting that has let him down.

The 30-year-old is ranked 121st in strokes gained putting so far this season.

If he can find a way to putt to even an average standard, he will start winning regularly; there’s no doubt about that.

Scottie Scheffler’s comments on Wednesday should be a big boost for Si Woo Kim and he may well come out firing at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson as a result.
