Viktor Hovland and Scottie Scheffler were forced to return to TPC River Highlands on Monday morning to face off in the sudden-death playoff to decide the Travelers Championship winner.
Darkness ensured that Hovland and Scheffler, who tied for the week on 21-under par, had to remain in Cromwell, Connecticut, for one more night.
Both players struggled during the final round at TPC River Highlands.
Neither Scottie Scheffler nor Viktor Hovland managed to find any kind of rhythm through their rounds on Sunday at the Travelers Championship.

Scheffler holed an eight-foot putt to force a playoff with Hovland late on Sunday night.
However, he was unable to respond to the Norwegian’s birdie on the first playoff hole on Monday, after he missed a short birdie putt inside five feet.

Both players ripped their tee shots down the middle on the 18th hole on Monday.
Scheffler then stuffed his approach shot inside five feet, while Hovland’s ball ended up around eight feet from the pin.
The man from Norway holed his putt while the world number one’s ball lipped out.
Scheffler spoke after his defeat to Hovland and responded when asked how he really feels.

“I played solid over the course of four days,“ he said.
“There are some shots I would like back. Obviously I am a bit disappointed with the finish, but overall I feel like my game is in a good spot.“
Scottie Scheffler comments on his short missed putt
Scheffler responded when asked whether he actually hit a good putt on the 18th hole or not.
“I hit it on line but I hit it a bit firm,“ he said.
“It’s one of those putts I had to make but I hit it too firmly. That is a bit disappointing, especially with the putts I had to make last night. But definitely some good things to come from this week.
“I struck the ball really nicely. It was just one of those weeks where I was close but just wasn’t quite good enough.“
Scheffler will be seriously hurting deep down after losing the Travelers playoff to Viktor Hovland.
However, a win and four runner-up finishes during the first five months of the season is far from a failure.
