Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Electricity (SE) is prepared to ensure a stable power supply across the state during scheduled maintenance works at the Sabah Oil and Gas Terminal (SOGT) from Aug 22-28.
According to utility sources, the temporary gas shutdown in Kimanis will facilitate maintenance operations by Petronas, requiring two affected independent power producers to operate on alternative diesel fuel.
All relevant parties have coordinated operations, optimised generation resources, and enhanced system monitoring to manage the maintenance period effectively.
Operational and technical teams remain on standby for unexpected generation constraints, with load shedding to be implemented only as a last resort to minimise public impact.
Consumers are advised to use electricity prudently during peak demand hours and monitor official SE channels for updates.
