A 49-year-old female hiker, Jaslinda Saludin, remains missing after she was believed to have strayed from the original trail while descending Gunung Batu Putih in Perak during the Trans Spencer Chapman expedition.

The challenging mountain route passes through Pos Gedung, Gunung Bah Gading, Gunung Batu Putih, and exits via Kuala Woh.
23 May 2026 (Saturday)
- Jaslinda joined the Trans Spencer Chapman hiking expedition alongside 13 other participants and two mountain guides.
24 May 2026 (Sunday)
- One participant reportedly experienced breathing difficulties and vomited blood before stopping at Kem Batu Kor with a mountain guide.
- Jaslinda initially stayed behind as well but was believed to have continued the hike alone towards the summit of Gunung Batu Putih.
- She was last seen around 7.30 a.m. before being reported missing.

25 May 2026 (Monday)
- A search and rescue (SAR) operation was officially launched by JBPM and other agencies.
- The search route covered Pos Gedung, Gunung Bah Gading, Gunung Batu Putih and Kuala Woh.
- The STORM rescue unit was deployed via helicopter to begin searches from higher ground.
26 May 2026 (Tuesday)
- SAR efforts focused on the area between Kem Sukaneka and Gunung Rayu after authorities suspected the victim may have strayed from the original trail.
- Communication systems and equipment were upgraded with assistance from SAPURA and the Government Integrated Radio Network (GIRN).
27 May 2026 (Wednesday)
- Rescue teams discovered new clues, including a water bottle and supplement packaging believed to belong to the missing hiker.
- The findings strengthened suspicions that she had deviated from the main hiking route.
28 May 2026 (Thursday)
- The SAR operation entered its fourth day with the involvement of multiple agencies including JBPM, PDRM, PGA and the Forestry Department.
- Rescue personnel stayed overnight on the mountain to intensify search efforts.
- Police also recorded statements from several individuals, including the victim’s husband and mountain guides, to assist investigations.
29 May 2026 (Friday)
- SAR teams shifted focus to the Sungai Ayer Busok area amid the possibility that the victim may have headed towards a water source for survival.
- Search efforts remain ongoing with additional manpower deployed.
