KENINGAU: The search operation for a 35-year-old Sabah Electricity worker swept away by floodwaters in Kampung Nuntunan, Apin-apin, has entered its third day.
The victim was carried away by strong currents on Sept 16 while attempting to cross a bridge with two colleagues, who managed to save themselves.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department, today’s search is focused around Kampung Linsudan, about 21km downstream, after rescuers discovered a shoe believed to belong to the victim.
A drone unit has been deployed to widen the search radius along the Pagalan River.
Authorities say efforts will continue until the victim is found.
