Season 2 of the Doctors Premier League (DPL) will kick off on Saturday (June 13) at the Green Oval Cricket Ground in Tangori. The tournament, organised by the DPL organising committee with the public health motto of “Say No To Drugs”, aims to promote healthy lifestyles and sporting camaraderie among medical professionals.

The opening fixture will see the Doctors Daredevils, led by Dr Ravinder Malwal, take on the Blackhawks under the captaincy of Dr Ritik Arora. The organisers expect participation from doctors across the Tricity and neighbouring districts, with matches scheduled over weekends to encourage wider attendance from both players and families.

“The DPL is not only about competitive cricket but also community engagement,” said a member of the organising committee. “Season 2’s motto, ‘Say No To Drugs’, reinforces physicians’ role in public-health advocacy and substance-abuse awareness,” he added.

The DPL organising committee comprises Dr Harmandeep Brar, Dr Jatin Sharma, Dr Vishant Bansal, Dr Mohit Sharma, Dr Sandeep Jaswal, Dr Ravinder Malwal, Dr Hariharan and Dr Ritik Arora. The committee has planned short health talks during match intervals to inform spectators about prevention and support resources related to drug misuse.
