Kota Kinabalu: A long-time kuih lobak seller at the Bawah Jambatan Segama night market is receiving an outpouring of support online after a nostalgic post about him went viral.

The elderly vendor, known to many simply as “uncle”, has reportedly been frying the popular carrot cake at the market since the 1990s.

A Facebook post by Kota Kinabalu City shared a photo of the stall and recalled how many locals grew up eating the dish since their school days.

The post encouraged residents to visit the stall and show support, noting that the food is freshly cooked and halal.

It also drew hundreds of reactions online, with many netizens sharing memories of buying the kuih lobak over the years and thanking the vendor for continuing the night market favourite.
