Selangor air improves, with Shah Alam highest API at 92

SHAH ALAM, Oct 2 - Air quality at six monitoring areas in Selangor was at moderate levels as of 9 am today, with Shah Alam recording the state’s highest Air Pollutant Index (API) reading of 92.

According to the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) portal, readings at the other five areas were Klang (87), Johan Setia (85), Petaling Jaya (83), Kuala Selangor (74) and Banting (70).

Meanwhile, Seri Manjung in Perak was the only area nationwide to record unhealthy air quality, with an API reading of 108.

Overall, 62 areas nationwide, including the six in Selangor, recorded moderate air quality, while five areas registered good air quality.

API readings of between zero and 50 indicate good air quality, 51 to 100 moderate, 101 to 200 unhealthy, 201 to 300 very unhealthy, while readings above 300 are classified as hazardous.
