Selangor International Business Summit 2026 aims to attract high-value investment and drive innovation while strengthening the state’s ASEAN role.
PETALING JAYA: The Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) will return for its 10th edition in October, bringing together regional business leaders, investors and policymakers as Selangor seeks to strengthen its role in driving ASEAN’s economic growth.
The four-day summit will be held from Oct 14 to 17 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), with this year’s edition positioned as one of the most ambitious since the annual event was launched.
Anchored by the Rancangan Selangor Kedua (RS-2) blueprint, SIBS 2026 aims to catalyse key industries, attract high-value investments and accelerate sustainable technological development across the region.
Selangor State Executive Council member for Investment, Trade and Mobility Ng Sze Han said the summit was aligned with the state’s ambition to become an ASEAN model state for equitable growth and quality of life by 2030.
“Everything we are building, negotiating and facilitating through this summit is engineered to achieve one clear, defining goal: Selangor as the ASEAN Model State for Equitable Growth and Quality of Life for All by 2030,” he said.
The 10th edition will feature a series of concurrent programmes covering investment, advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, healthcare, digitalisation and talent development.
Among the key programmes is the Selangor ASEAN Business Conference (SABC), which will bring together international policymakers and thought leaders and feature a special address by the World Bank.
The Selangor Investment Forum (SIF) will offer high-level discussions on investment opportunities, while the Selangor Investment and Industrial Park Expo (SPARK) will showcase investment-ready manufacturing ecosystems.
The summit will also feature the Selangor AI and Semiconductor Summit (AiSEM@Selangor), focusing on high-tech manufacturing and integrated circuit design, alongside the Selangor International Care Expo (SICE), which will examine opportunities arising from the growing care economy.
The Selangor Techsphere Summit (STS) will highlight developments in enterprise digitalisation and smart city applications, while the Selangor Career Outreach Talent Expo (SCOUT) will focus on developing and connecting local talent with industry requirements.
Adding to the week’s business agenda, the Delegation of the European Union to Malaysia will host the third EU-Malaysia Business Day on Oct 13 in conjunction with SIBS 2026.
Held under the theme “Bridging Innovation – Powering Progress”, the event will be organised in collaboration with the Selangor State Government, Invest Selangor and EUROCHAM Malaysia.
The event aims to strengthen EU-Malaysia business ties and identify new investment opportunities, particularly in high-growth sectors such as advanced manufacturing, green transition, digitalisation and logistics.
More than 550 EU companies currently operate in Selangor, generating combined annual revenue of more than RM51 billion, according to the organisers.
European Commissioner for International Partnerships H.E. Jozef Síkela is scheduled to deliver the keynote address, alongside senior Malaysian government representatives.
The event is expected to attract around 700 participants, including EU and Malaysian business leaders, representatives from European chambers of commerce, ambassadors from more than 15 EU member states and Selangor government officials.
With its expanded programme and international participation, SIBS 2026 is expected to provide a platform for businesses and investors to explore partnerships, expand across borders and tap into emerging opportunities within the ASEAN economy.
Industry partners, multinational corporations and local enterprises are invited to participate in the summit and position their businesses within the region’s evolving economic landscape.
