SHAH ALAM - Another young leader has resigned from MIC three days after Senator Datuk C Sivarraajh's departure.

Selangor MIC Youth chief P Punithan submitted his resignation letter to party president Tan Sri SA Vigneswaran today.

He immediately announced his resignation from both his state-level position and his role as the Bandar Baru Batang Berjuntai (Kuala Selangor) branch's youth chief.

"After serving and holding various positions in MIC for the past 15 years, I have made the challenging decision to leave the party.

"I would like to express my gratitude to MIC leaders at all levels for their support during my tenure. I believe I have given my utmost dedication throughout these years," Punithan said in a statement today.

Punithan's contributions to MIC include serving as a member of the party's central working committee (CWC), as well as holding positions as the MIC Youth secretary and MIC information chief.

Earlier this month, Sivarraajh was expelled from the MIC's CWC.

On June 27, Sivaraj announced his immediate resignation from the party.

He said he took this step because he wanted to implement his duties as a Senator and Indian community leader without restrictions from the party leadership.
