OSAKA, May 9 — Selangor Week, held in conjunction with the World Expo 2025 Osaka in Japan, serves as an important platform to showcase business opportunities and state government initiatives to high-potential investors.
Invest Selangor chief executive officer Datuk Hasan Azhari Idris said the Selangor Investment Forum (SIF), for instance, attracted industry players keen on exploring market opportunities across Southeast Asia.
“As the host of the Malaysia Pavilion, Selangor is showcasing important state initiatives in areas like food security, digital economy, renewable energy, investment, and digitalisation.

“Selangor Week not only promotes business opportunities but also highlights the state’s rich culture and tourism offerings.
“The event covers a wide range of focus areas, and we hope Invest Selangor’s efforts at the Expo 2025 Osaka will generate a significant long-term impact,” he told Media Selangor.
Hasan added that the premiere of the documentary “Unveiling the Majesty: Royal Heritage Forests of Selangor” during Selangor Week drew interest from industry players keen to learn about the state’s efforts in rainforest conservation and sustainable forest management.
“Investors recognise that while Selangor is vibrant with modern development, it also maintains a strong commitment to sustainability by preserving the state’s forests,” he said.
The week-long programme highlights Selangor as a dynamic, competitive state that is globally connected and driven by technology, culture, and youth.
The Malaysian Pavilion’s participation in Expo 2025 Osaka, themed ‘Weaving a Future in Harmony’, is part of a broader strategy to strengthen the country’s global presence and economic partnerships.
