OSAKA, May 9 — Selangor’s efforts to strengthen strategic ties with Japanese corporate giants continued with a visit by the Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah to Panasonic Holdings Corporation and Daikin Industries Ltd yesterday.
His Highness was accompanied by state executive councillor for investment, trade, and mobility Ng Sze Han, Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI chief executive officer (CEO) Dato’ Ts Saipolyazan Mat Yusop, and Invest Selangor Bhd CEO Dato’ Hasan Azhari Idris.
Tengku Amir’s arrival was warmly received by the senior management teams of both companies.
At the Panasonic Museum, His Highness was briefed on the company’s achievements and technological innovations. Panasonic has operated in Malaysia since 1965.

Tengku Amir also attended a virtual presentation session with Panasonic executives Michiko Ogawa and Junji Hosokawa, where he expressed his appreciation for the company’s contributions to Selangor’s economic growth.
As a symbol of the strong relationship, His Highness presented a souvenir to Panasonic’s management before visiting Daikin Industries Ltd, the world’s leading air-conditioning manufacturer.
Upon arrival at Daikin’s technology and data centre, Tengku Amir was welcomed by engineering executive Toru Inazuka. The prince was then given a tour of the facilities and briefed on the company’s research and investment projects, particularly in Malaysia and Selangor.
Concluding the meaningful visit, His Highness, as Selangor FC’s chairman, graciously presented an official Red Giants team jersey to Inazuka as a gesture of appreciation and friendship, before departing at 4.30pm.
