MANILA, Philippines—Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano suspended the session Monday to allow fellow senators to prepare for the convening of the chamber as an impeachment court.
The House of Representatives on May 13 transmitted to the Senate the Articles of Impeachment against Vice President Sara Duterte for trial.
The senators went back to their respective rooms to wear their robes.
Cayetano will serve as presiding officer while the senators will act as judges.
