
The Senate on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, adopted a resolution congratulating and commending five Filipino dance crews for winning five medals at the 2026 World Hip Hop Dance Championship in Phoenix, Arizona, highlighting the global potential of Filipino talent in the arts and creative industries.
The Senate adopted Senate Resolution (SR) 591, authored and sponsored by Sen. Bam Aquino, recognizing the outstanding performances of the Philippine representatives in the international competition.
The Filipino crews brought home two gold, one silver, and two bronze medals.
Femme MNL won the gold medal in the Megacrew Division, while HQ topped the Adult Division. The Crew took silver in the Megacrew Division, while Folk Jumpers and Sayawatha Jr. won bronze in the Adult and Junior divisions, respectively.
Aquino said the victories demonstrated that Filipino artists can compete with the best in the world when given opportunities and adequate support.
“Our Filipino dance crews demonstrated what Filipinos can achieve when allowed to perform on the international stage,” Aquino said, describing their achievement as a testament to the country’s talent, hard work and excellence.
He said the dancers’ success also serves as an inspiration to young Filipinos pursuing their passions in schools, dance studios, and local competitions.
