
Kota Kinabalu: Sabah shuttlers captured seven golds, two silvers and six bronze at the 51st World Morning Cup Badminton Championship held recently at the Taipei Gymnasium in Taiwan.
The gold medals were delivered by Bruni Garip (mens’ singles (MS) -70), Jason Lai ( MS-50), Jack Lim (MS-65)Hng Choon Long/Tan Tee How (men’s doubles (MD)-100), Datuk Anthony C Linggian / Bruni Garip (MD-70), Faisal Sayuati/ Chek Yee Han (MD-40),
Silver medals came from Tan Chen Fal (MS-80). Datuk Raya Erom/Presley Smith of United States(mixed doubles (XD-VIP), while the bronze medalists were Ong Sin Oong/Anthony Linggian (MD-140), S.M. Lee / Jason Lai (MD- 50), Nazriq Hanafi / Nikram Shazran Sapari (MD-30), Lam Ching / Tan Chan Fal (MD-80), Allan Hiew / Ma Shuep Err (XD-40), Kelvin Loh / Ong Chia Jia (XD-45).
The medalists were among the 49 players representing Sabah (KK) Malaysia Badminton Club in the four-day competition organised by Taiwan Senior Badminton Association in collaboration with Taipei City Department of Sports which had attracted a total of 3,600 participants.
