Sergi Busquets is giving priority to Barcelona over new contract talks.

The Catalan club are planning to offer him a one-year renewal with a significant reduction in salary, but expect the player to be happy to continue playing as he continues to show a high level of play this season.
Busquets felt a few months ago that perhaps his cycle at Bara was over. MLS clubs were approaching him and there was a possibility that he could have left in the January transfer window, but Bara stopped him from leaving due to his importance in Xavi's scheme.
The captain has since recovered his best form and looks comfortable in Xavi's new system, much more supported in midfield. He feels that he can go for another year, but is now waiting on the club. He will have good proposals, but he will prioritise Bara.
