Serian and Kuching continue to record hazardous API

KUALA LUMPUR - Air quality in Serian and Kuching, Sarawak is still at hazardous levels as of 4pm today.

According to the Malaysian Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) website, the monitoring station at the Serian district police headquarters (IPD) recorded an Air Pollutant Index (API) reading of 514 while Kuching recorded a reading of 313.

Two other areas in Sarawak are at very unhealthy levels, namely Samarahan with a reading of 288 and Sri Aman (239).

Additionally, 13 locations recorded unhealthy API readings involving six areas in Sarawak, namely Sarikei (183), Sibu (181), Mukah (178), Bintulu (159), Samalaju (153) and the Miri Industrial Training Institute (ILP) (152), with four each in Johor and three in Sabah.

In Johor, unhealthy API readings were recorded in Pasir Gudang (151), Segamat (116), Larkin (126) and Kota Tinggi (129) while in Sabah, they involved the areas of Tawau (153), Sandakan (128) and the Kota Kinabalu Polytechnic (151).

Meanwhile, 38 areas nationwide were reported to be at moderate levels while 13 areas recorded good readings. - BERNAMA
