KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) remains committed to driving Sabah’s economic growth through continued investment in infrastructure and local participation.

Under the Incentive Based Regulation framework, SESB has rolled out various technical and non-technical projects, involving qualified local vendors to execute them.

Chief Executive Officer Datuk Mohd Yaakob Jaafar (pic) said contracts worth RM406 million were awarded to vendors in 2024, with an additional RM117 million approved up to July 2025.

He said local vendors will continue to be prioritised in open tenders across Sabah and Labuan to strengthen local economic participation.

The initiative is expected to spur economic spillover effects and create more job opportunities for nearby communities.
