SEMPORNA: Seven individuals survived after the boat they were travelling in collided with another boat off the Seafest waters, here, on Thursday.

It was learnt that the boat, carrying six passengers and the skipper, was heading towards town, while another boat was heading towards an island when the incident occurred at about 9am.

Semporna Fire and Rescue Station Chief, Akhimullah Adan, said his department received a distress call following the incident at 9.08am and rushed personnel to the scene of accident.

“All the victims were safely rescued by members of public,” he said.

The victims were sent home at Kg Hidayat Balembang.
