THE BE In Sabah 2025 witnessed the signings of three Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at driving business growth, investment and sustainable development in Sabah’s event industry.

These include an MoU between SICC and SP Seven for a strategic collaboration to ensure the seamless execution of The Borneo International Halal Exhibition (Bohex) 2025, positioning Sabah as a global halal industry hub.

Advertisement (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});The others were between SICC and Our Shine GoGlobal for a partnership to host high-impact business, investment and sustainability-driven events at SICC, strengthening Sabah’s presence in the global Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (Mice) industry; and between SICC and HRD Corp for a collaboration to offer exclusive meeting and training packages for HRD Corp-registered training providers, supporting capacity-building and skills development in Malaysia.

These collaborations reaffirm SICC’s role as a premier convention hub and a catalyst for economic and professional growth in the region.

Also, the Sarawak Business Events Association Courtesy Visit & Venue Inspection aimed at exploring potential collaborations between Sarawak and Sabah in the Business Events sector.

The delegation also conducted an inspection of SICC’s world-class facilities, gaining insights into the venue’s capabilities to host international conventions, exhibitions, and corporate events.

The Sabah-Brunei Joint Business Council Meeting was also held to strengthen trade and business partnerships between Sabah and Brunei.

The Maceos Sabah Chapter also spearheaded a highly effective business matching programme, connecting exhibitors, buyers and industry stakeholders. Through pre-arranged and on-site meetings, participants explored new partnerships, investment opportunities and market expansion strategies, ensuring meaningful engagements that drove real business growth.
