Sevilla president Jose Castro says they should've sacked Julen Lopetegui.
The Wolves manager was shown the door in an emotional moment for Sevilla and their fans in October after three successful years in charge.
Jorge Sampaoli arrived to replace Lopetegui, but was also axed last month and replaced by Jose Luis Mendilibar.
Mendilibar has since guided Sevilla into the Europa League semifinals and away from the LaLiga dropzone.
Castro said: "I regret that Lopetegui had to start the season with us. It was a mistake not to fire him earlier."
