Virgil van Dijk isn't concerned by Liverpool's lack of transfer activity.

A 3-0 loss to Napoli on Sunday made it four winless friendlies in a row for the Reds.

But Dutch star van Dijk believes the return of the club's stars, including Mohamed Salah, Alisson, Roberto Firmino and Salah Mane, will be important for Sunday's Community Shield clash against Manchester City.

Van Dijk said: "There's a reason why we are European champions.

"We have to stay calm, we want to win games, and yeah ok, Napoli was just a little bit better than us, but even there we showed promising football as well.

"First of all we have good players. That is important.

"But everyone knows the players who are missing are important players for us. That's a fact.

"It was quite sloppy at times against Napoli, but there's no concerns from my point of view.

"Our season starts properly next Sunday, so our focus will be on that."
