Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, Sector 26, eves posted a 3-2 win over the KISCOE, Sector 42, in a semifinal of the Chandigarh State Senior Hockey Championship at the Sector 42 Hockey Stadium here.

The Sector 26 took the lead as Manpreet converted the penalty corner in the fourth minute of the game. Gurmail doubled the lead in the 15th minute. However, in the 36th minute, the Sector 42 team scored their first goal through Mahima. However, Manpreet struck again as she converted another penalty corner in the 38th minute of the game. Mahima scored the second goal for the Sector 42 team in the 50th minute.

In the second semifinal, Chandigarh Hockey Academy, Sector 18, defeated Wanderers Club in a penalty shootout. The match ended 1-1 in the stipulated time with Ratanjeet (8th minute) scoring for the academy, and Alka levelling the score in the 40th minute of the game.

Wanderers Club reached the men’s final by defeating SGGS Hockey Club (Blue), Sector 26. The Wanderers took the lead through Boby (10th minute), while Paramvir (38th minute) netted the second goal for the club. The Sector 26 team posted a goal in the 58th minute through Pankaj. Paramvir scored his second goal in the dying minutes of the match to ensure win for the Wanderers.

In the last match, ITBP lads defeated AG Haryana in a penalty shootout. The match had ended with a 2-2 scoreline. The AG Haryana team was enjoying a two-goal lead gained through Gobind (8th minute) and Ankit (16th minute), before Shubham and Vijay scored for ITBP in the 39th and 42nd minute of the game.
