Kota Kinabalu: Several former senior government officers and local leaders across Sabah have joined Parti Warisan (Warisan) to contribute towards the State’s development.

Warisan President Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal said the group met him at the party headquarters on Thursday to discuss Sabah’s development priorities and the need to strengthen unity among its people.

He said their knowledge and experience would help improve the quality of development projects, especially at the district level involving roads, water, and electricity.

Shafie also commented on Local Government Development Minister Nga Kor Ming’s remarks about Semporna’s cleanliness, saying the issue should not be politicised and recalling that the district was once among the cleanest under Warisan’s administration.

He said the new members had not asked for political positions but were concerned about unemployment and basic facilities, urging that development be carried out fairly and the Election Commission ensure transparency in the coming polls.
