Kota Kinabalu: The status of Datuk Shahelmey Yahya and Datuk Andi Muhammad Suryady Bandy will be decided later, said Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) Chairman and Gagasan Rakyat Sabah President Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
He said both assemblymen had expressed their intention to contest under the GRS banner in the upcoming 17th Sabah State Election.
Hajiji said Shahelmey and Andi, one a minister and the other a young leader, had both indicated their wish to represent GRS and he had no objection.
He told reporters this after attending the Tamu Suara 360: Aspirasi Anak Muda programme at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) here.
In 2023, Shahelmey and Andi, then Umno members, declared support for Hajiji and GRS following Umno’s failed bid to topple the state government through the “Langkah Kinabalu” move.
