Deputy Commissioner Akash Bansal has directed all private schools to immediately provide the information regarding the fee increase to the Education Department.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had announced to cap all fee hike at a maximum of 5 per cent annually. He had also directed the schools to refund the excess fee to parents if the fee was raised by more than 15 per cent over the preceding three years.

Presiding over a meeting of the District-Level Fee Regulatory Committee, the DC stated that as per the reports received so far, only 60 private schools have provided details pertaining to fee hike. He expressed concern and issued strict directions to the remaining schools to furnish the required information without further delay.

The DC also instructed education officials to verify the records submitted by the schools. He issued a final warning to institutions that have failed to submit the documents, stating that action would be initiated against defaulters.

Bansal further appealed to students, parents and guardians to come forward with any complaints related to school fee, uniforms or any other issues. Such grievances can be taken up with the district administration through the helpline number 01822-233777.

The DC said the administration is committed to safeguarding the interests of students and ensuring transparency and fairness in the functioning of educational institutions.
