Dr. Hamid Arshat, retired Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist, now Chairman of MAHIR at Yayasan Jabal Nur, has exciting plans to unveil a comprehensive life skills training program for school leavers and unemployed graduates this Malaysia Day.

He firmly believes that there's no more fitting way to celebrate Malaysia Day than by empowering the youth with essential life skills, nurturing them to become exemplary citizens, and perhaps even the leaders of tomorrow.

This programme will have its grand launch amidst the festivities of a Malaysia Day carnival at Masjid Saidina Umar Al Khattab. The event will bring together young participants from across Kuala Lumpur who will be competing in a spirited futsal championship, brilliantly organized by one of the mosque's young imams

The inaugural session of this program, spanning five consecutive weekends, will kick off on September 24th. The event will be graced by the Chairman of Masjid Saidina Umar Al Khattab, Tan Sri Syed Hamid Albar, commencing at 10 a.m.

Anticipating an enthusiastic turnout of around 100 youths from the neighbouring areas of Bukit Damansara, this first session will receive full support from Newswav staff and writers. They will generously offer their expertise to assist school leavers and unemployed graduates in mastering basic communication skills for writing articles and getting them published in Newswav.

Beyond writing, these weekly workshops will delve into 20 other fundamental life skills, arming the youth with the tools to tackle the challenges they encounter in their daily lives.

Some of these skills encompass the ability to sell and negotiate, effective communication, active listening and learning, adaptability and problem-solving, effective time management, maintaining positivity and optimism, public speaking, working under pressure, self-analysis and improvement, empathy and understanding, and persuasive writing.

Dr Rahim said, a prominent contributor to Newswav, will play a pivotal role in a series of workshops organized by MAHIR in collaboration with Masjid Saidina Umar Al Khattab and Perkim, Cawangan Bukit Damansara.

Dr Rahim, a human behaviourist and prolific Newswav writer, is a management consultant, corporate trainer, and executive coach specializing in guiding executives and entrepreneurs to modify their behaviour in pursuit of their cherished missions.

The organizers hold high hopes that participants will be inspired to further their interests nurtured in these workshops by enrolling in individual coaching sessions. Dr. Hamid encourages individuals seeking guidance from MAHIR's mentors to reach out and schedule appointments at their convenience.

Dr. Hamid is optimistic that through these sessions, participants will be superbly equipped for their chosen career paths not only as employees but also as entrepreneurs.
