Out of love for animals, some people are prepared to move mountains... or spend the night on a cold pavement. This is the incredible story of Camryn, a young woman determined to adopt Bambi, a little kitten with such a unique coat that she sparked a real local frenzy.

It all began when Camryn (known as @camrynandcowboy on social media) spotted little Bambi online. It was love at first sight, and she knew instantly they were meant for each other. Knowing the kitten would be highly sought after, the young woman made a radical decision. She would go to the rescue centre and camp outside all night to be first in queue the next morning.

In a video documenting her journey, Camryn explained that she initially waited in her car. However, when she saw other vehicles arriving and parking, she quickly grabbed a folding chair to set up right by the door. She described the experience as the ”craziest thing” she had ever done. Against all expectations, the car park kept filling up as the hours went by. Camryn later confirmed that everyone there had indeed turned up for the exact same reason: to adopt Bambi.

Unexpected support from a devoted dad

In the dead of night, something unexpected interrupted her long wait. At 1am, a car pulled up, and Camryn was surprised to see her own father get out. Refusing to let her face the night alone, he sat down beside her to camp out for the rest of the night.

Under the video, a comment from a viewer perfectly summed up everyone's emotions: ”You were waiting there to save your baby, while your dad was making sure his own baby was safe.”

A happy ending for Bambi

After a long 13-hour wait, the rescue centre finally opened its doors. At 9am, Camryn received the precious ticket showing she was first in queue. By 11am, the adoption was officially finalised, and Bambi could finally head to her forever home.
