Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani is prepared to pay over the odds to complete a full takeover of Manchester United.
Representatives of Sheikh Jassim were at Old Trafford on Thursday for talks with United officials and to receive a presentation on the club.
The Qataris have offered an opening 4.5bn, which has been rejected by the Glazer family.
However, Sky Sports says Sheikh Jassim intends to raise their offer to 6bn - which would satisfy the Americans.
The proposal will also be too rich for Sir Jim Ratcliffe to compete with. Ratcliffe was at Old Trafford on Friday for talks.
