Kyle Snyder, one of the most successful amateur wrestlers of his generation, has expressed interest in seeing Brock Lesnar return to the mat.
Lesnar’s path to fame started long before he stepped into the octagon or WWE ring, on the wrestling mats, where he first made a name for himself. He was a well-known name in professional wrestling before transitioning to MMA, where he went on to defeat Randy Couture for the UFC heavyweight title.
Lesnar claimed an NCAA Division I title in 2000. Now, over two decades later, an Olympic medallist is hoping to lure him back into competition. Kyle Snyder’s list of accomplishments includes winning three World Championships and capturing gold at the Rio 2016 Olympics.
Despite these achievements, Snyder still has his eye on one thing: getting a match with Brock Lesnar. During an appearance on Raw Talk, he extended a public invitation to Lesnar, who hasn’t set foot inside a WWE ring since SummerSlam 2023.
With no immediate plans for his return confirmed by either WWE or Lesnar himself, there’s little indication that anything is coming soon. If anything does happen though, it seems like Snyder will be ready.

RAF champion Kyle Snyder eyes Brock Lesnar matchup
RAF 09 was held on Saturday night, where Gable Steveson made a successful debut against Alexandr Romanov. Other winners included Arman Tsarukyan, Colby Covington, and Merab Dvalishvili. In the evening’s sole title fight, Kyle Snyder came out on top, handling Givi Matcharashvili with ease.
While his focus has typically been on elite competition within the sport, he seems open to broadening his scope. The Maryland native isn’t ruling out matches with UFC fighters and also mentioned an interest in facing Brock Lesnar if the opportunity arises.
“I didn’t even think about this either but somebody brought it up—Brock Lesnar,” Snyder told MMA Fighting ahead of his latest win.
“I mean, Brock’s pretty old, so I don’t know about that either. There’s a couple of good wrestlers in the UFC that I’d wrestle if they wanted to.
“That would just be a match strictly for the fans, something interesting for them,” he continued. “Obviously, Brock’s a big, big star, so I’d be interested in that just for the way that it would promote the sport.
“But I think Brock doesn’t have to wrestle me for that to help wrestling and RAF. He could wrestle anybody and it would bring a lot of people to the sport. I hope he does.”
Speculation around Lesnar’s return to MMA surfaced after he appeared to step away from professional wrestling following WrestleMania 42 in April. However, he has since returned to WWE programming and clarified that his retirement was only part of a storyline.
