KUALA LANGAT – A misunderstanding while entering the cash lane led to a scuffle involving a four-wheel drive driver and a lorry at the Telok Panglima Garang Toll Plaza last Thursday.

Kuala Langat District Police Chief Superintendent Akmalrizal Radzi, stated that the incident, which occurred at 6.15pm, involved two local men who were the drivers of the respective vehicles.

"Investigations revealed that the incident stemmed from a misunderstanding when the driver of a Toyota Hilux four-wheel drive was alleged to have cut the queue on the left side before entering the toll plaza's cash lane.

"This action resulted in a collision with a lorry driven by another individual," he said in a statement on Friday.

He added that after the collision, the Hilux driver attempted to engage the lorry driver in a discussion, but the latter refused to stop and continued driving.

“This led to a confrontation between the two parties involved. However, a thorough investigation found no elements of serious crime and both parties have agreed to resolve the matter,” he said.

He also noted that both drivers have come forward to the Kuala Langat District Police Headquarters (IPD) to provide their statements regarding the incident.

“Further investigations are being conducted by the Traffic Division of the Kuala Langat IPD under Rule 10 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959 (Rule 10 LN 166/59).

“The police advise the public not to speculate on the incident,” he said.

Earlier, a video of the altercation involving the drivers near a toll plaza in the area went viral on social media.

The incident was reportedly triggered by the collision between the two vehicles.

However, the situation was eventually calmed by members of the public at the scene.
