Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s Para shuttlers returned with two silver and four bronze medals at the National Para-Badminton Championship (circuit two) held at Paralympics Centre of Excellence in Kampung Pandan, Kuala Lumpur recently.
Shah Rizan Daud delivered a silver in the men’s singles SU 5 category and he also contributed another silver in the men’s doubles with Gerald H. Simbaku VII. The bronze medals came from Mohd Asrun Bin Mahadi and Jerald Jaudy in the men’s singles SL3 category, Gerald H. Simbaku VII in the men’s singles SU5 and Rahim Tinggal with his partner from Melaka, Fareezul Mohd Sapri in the combined SL3/SL4 category.
Pesron Sabah (Sabah Sports and Recreation Association for People with Disabilities) president Tan Hwa Koon in a statement released on Thursday congratulated the team led by coach Ag. Hazierul Ag. Daud.
He called on the players to learn from the experience and hopes the coach can rectify any of their weaknesses before the forthcoming Para-Sukma scheduled to be held in November.
