Singapore Airlines and Scoot cancel flights to Dubai and Jeddah until August 24 and July 27 respectively due to rising geopolitical tensions.

SINGAPORE: Singapore Airlines (SIA) and Scoot have extended the cancellation of their Dubai and Jeddah flights, respectively, as renewed geopolitical tensions in West Asia continue to disrupt air travel.

In advisories posted on Wednesday, SIA said flight SQ494 and SQ495 operating between Singapore and Dubai will be cancelled until August 24. Scoot will suspend its TR796 and TR797 flights for Singapore-Jeddah-Singapore up until July 27.

“As the situation remains fluid, other SIA flights may be affected. Customers affected by the flight cancellations can seek a full refund of the unused portion of their ticket,” SIA said.

Situation in the ongoing US-Iran war remains volatile, with both sides stepping up their attacks and intensifying the battle for control of the Strait of Hormuz.
