  • Silverstone will host a Formula 1 sprint race for the first time in five years at the 2026 British Grand Prix, scheduled for 3-5 July.
  • Elsewhere, Canada, Singapore, and Zandvoort are new additions to the sprint calendar for 2026, marking their first time hosting the shortened format.
  • Brazil, Belgium, Austin, and Qatar will no longer host sprint races from 2026, while China and Miami retain their positions as sprint venues.
  • The 2026 F1 season will feature six sprint races, accounting for 25 per cent of the total race weekends, with discussions ongoing for a potential increase from 2027.
  • Introduced in 2021 to boost competitive sessions, sprint weekends have historically led to an average 10 per cent increase in television viewership compared to non-sprint weekends.
