Singapore side to feature in 2024 Sabah Maju Jaya Cup

Kota Kinabalu: Singapore Premier League side Hougang United FC will be taking part in the 2024 Sabah Maju Jaya Cup (SMJ) Cup four-team tournament at Likas Stadium scheduled from April 29 to May 5.

The other teams in the RM33,000 tournament are KL City FC, Kuching City FC and Sabah FC.

Sabah FC’s director Mohd Joh Wid said the winning team will get to take home RM15,000 in cash, RM10,000 for the runners-up and third place would receive RM5,000 while RM3,000 for the fourth place .

“This tournament sponsored by Stedafiat Sdn. Bhd. and Anika Desiran Sdn. Bhd. will provide the platform for all four teams to test their strength and strategy before facing the Malaysian League 2024/2025 on May 10.

Sabah FC will be taking on the Singapore outfit on April 29 at 8pm preceded by the match between KL City FC and Kuching City FC scheduled at 4pm.

They will next play KL City FC at 8pm on May 1 after the early match between Kuching City FC and Hougang United at 4pm.

Sabah FC’s final group match is on May 3 against Kuching City FC at 8pm while the final will be held on May 5 at 8pm and the play-off for third and fourth place will be played at 4pm.

Meanwhile, tickets will go on sale today (Friday) and the public can get the tickets online at www.tickethotline.com.my.

The price of covered tickets is RM15 for adults and RM10 for children 12 years and below while non-covered tickets are RM10 for adults and RM5 for children 12 years and under.
