A single father in Indonesia works as an ojol driver while keeping watch on his one-year-old son via a phone-linked CCTV camera.

EVERY TIME his phone alerts him to a new ride request, 26-year-old Tri Rama Dandi is faced with the same difficult decision, head out to earn a living or remain at home with his one-year-old son.

The single father from Kolaka in South-east Sulawesi has been raising his son, identified only as MA, on his own while working as an online motorcycle taxi rider, commonly known in Indonesia as an ojol, after his marriage ended in 2025, according to Indonesian news outlet Tribunnews Sultra.

“When I receive an order, I immediately start my motorcycle and head out to complete the delivery,” he was quoted as saying.

Each day, Rama leaves his modest rented home to transport passengers and deliver orders. However, his greatest concern remains his young son, who waits for him at home.

As both the family’s sole breadwinner and caregiver, Rama has taken full responsibility for providing not only financial support but also the love and care his toddler needs.

To ensure his son’s safety while he is working, Rama monitors him through a CCTV camera linked to his mobile phone.

Footage from the live camera feed recently went viral on social media, showing the little boy lying near the front door with a milk bottle beside him, seemingly waiting for his father to return.

In some clips, the child can be seen peering through the gap beneath the door, appearing to check whether the footsteps outside belong to his father.

The touching scenes have resonated with many social media users, who praised the strong bond between the devoted father and his son.

For Rama, the CCTV system serves a purpose beyond home security. It allows him to keep a close watch on his son and remain connected while working to provide for their small family.
