SHAH ALAM - Tengku Putri Arafiah, the younger sister of the Sultan of Selangor, passed away at her residence in Seksyen 12, Shah Alam, on June. She was 72 years old.
A source from the Selangor Palace confirmed her demise, stating that Tengku Putri Arafiah, the daughter of the late Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, passed away at approximately 10.15am due to old age.
Her remains were brought to the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque in Shah Alam to undergo funeral rites. The funeral prayers were performed immediately following Friday congregational prayers.
The late princess will be laid to rest at the Shah Alam Royal Mausoleum in Seksyen 5.
The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, attended the funeral prayers at the state mosque to pay his final respects. He was accompanied by the Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin.
