This is great news. Just too good to be kept under wraps!
Our #CNY2023 feature of Siti Saleha a true grit Malay lion dancer has caught the eye of a Jakarta based news channel.
When they read the story in Newswav they wrote to her Muhibbah Lion Dance troupe requesting an interview and to film her in action at a performance outside a house in Lucky Garden, Bangsar a week after Chinese New Year.
When met at our mutual friend's home for a yee sang lunch on Sunday 29 January she's over the moon and was anxious about the filming and photo shoot later that afternoon.

"Oh yes, by the way thank you Newswav for publishing that story about me. It's so flattering. I received so many positive feedback!", Siti Saleha told me in front of all the guests around the yee sang table, smiling her sweet smile while her husband watched and nodded in approval.
She showed me a message from Basir Siswo, a correspondent for the Jakarta based Southeast Asia Today news channel.
The correspondent introduced himself as Basir Siswo from Southeast Asia Today news channel based in Jakarta.
He texted "We would like to feature your lion dance troupe for a news video for Indonesian audience. If you are performing in KL this weekend we would like to film it and interview Siti Saleha as well as others in the troupe".
It so happened that the troupe was booked by a family in Lucky Garden to bless their home that Sunday.
We were so engrossed in conversations about the fabulous yee sang with abalone, a variety of new year cookies and the great coffee prepared by Siti's husband-cum-barrista, we totally forgot about her filming appointment until her phone rang telling her the troupe was already on the way to Bangsar.
She jumped up like a lion ready to pounce.
Anyway, before running off we still had time for a group photo. Then off she went, "Wish me luck, ok?"
When she arrived at Jalan Tempinis, Lucky Garden, the team was all prepared for the performance.
Basir Siswo quickly introduced himself, handed her his name card and professionally went about his job explaining what they wanted to do to capture the event on film.
Everything went to plan. The performance and filming went well.
Unfortunately, we are unable to share with you the video just as yet. It's being edited. Stay tuned for more updates.
But all we wanted to tell you is that this is really good stuff for the Muhibbah Lion Dance Troupe, Newswav and of course Siti Saleha, our very own Queen of Lion Dance to be recognised by a media platform overseas.
Who knows by next Chinese New Year she might be dancing her way to fame in Jakarta if not the whole of Indonesia.
