What do you have to be grateful for in this Year of the Rabbit?
Before you answer that let me just tell you about "gratitude journaling". It is a habit of recording and reflecting on what you are grateful for regularly, preferably daily before you retire for the night.
Writing out your gratitude is a popular practice in positive psychology which is focused on being happy. It is also often referred to as “counting your blessings”.
So, let's count your blessings this new year and store them in your journal for you to reflect upon as a means of keeping yourself happy always.
Let's count your blessings

- Be grateful if you still have a family to go home to, be it in Penang, Perak, Sabah or Sarawak. They may be all that you have left to fall back on whenever you need support.
- Thank God for giving us "Everything Everywhere all at Once" and Michelle Yeoh and her Golden Globe Award to talk about over reunion dinner this year. This will help you jolt yourself into thinking that fantasy does help make you happy sometimes. That's what science fiction is all about.
- Be grateful that you survived 2 years of Covid19 and are still walking about doing all the good and the bad things you enjoy doing.
- Also, be blessed for the eggs, chickens, ducks, bacon, ham and pork that are still available in abundance this season. You may complain about the rising costs. Like Rafizi said eat something else if chicken is too pricey for you. But then so is the price of pork. Tell Anwar and thank him for making them available but complain that the price is too high!
- For those going North be happy West Coast Expressway WCE is now open for traffic in case PLUS Expressway is jammed packed with others like you who may be grateful to have a car to drive home but stuck for hours before reaching home to enjoy that reunion dinner. But for those going to Kuantan just be grateful there's a road going there although it'll take 5 to 10 hours to reach home, safely.
- When you get home go see your old buddies, playmates, and old classmates who are fortunate enough to be alive and well in the old town but unfortunately stuck in time happily married and don't know what life is like in places where you've been. Be grateful and be generous with your experience and money if you have some to spare.
And many other reasons you can think of to be grateful for when you welcome the Year of the Rabbit. Write it down in your GRATITUDE JOURNAL.
