SHAH ALAM - Minister of Human Resources V. Sivakumar has confirmed the contracts of his five ministry officers who were investigated by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for misuse of power have been terminated immediately.

He said this during the 2023 government-linked company (GLC) OSH Summit in Bangi on Tuesday, stating that the action was necessary for the smooth administration of the ministry.

“It (staff termination) happened. We want to ensure the ministry functions smoothly and well,” he said.

In a corruption investigation involving a foreign recruitment agency, the MACC had previously arrested the officers to assist in their investigations. The MACC had also arrested a businessman from Ipoh who was said to involve bribes amounting to RM97 million.
