Six areas in Johor, one in Sarawak record unhealthy API readings at 9am

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 4 - Six areas in Johor and one in Sarawak recorded Air Pollutant Index (API) readings at unhealthy levels as of 9am today.

Based on the Environment Department's Malaysian Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) data, Batu Pahat recorded the highest reading of 156, followed by Segamat (154), Kluang and Tangkak (152), Larkin (148), and Pasir Gudang (126).

In Sarawak, Samarahan recorded a reading of 152.

Fifty-seven areas recorded moderate API readings, while three areas were at good levels: Sandakan (45), Langkawi (37), and Kangar (32).

The API reading for the Kota Kinabalu station was unavailable at the time.

API readings of zero to 50 are categorised as good, 51 to 100 (moderate), 101 to 200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (very unhealthy), and above 300 (hazardous).
