SANDAKAN: Six residents were evacuated after their house in Jalan Chung Hwa Batu caught on fire, early morning on Wednesday.
Sandakan Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) Acting Chief Syamzari Ghani said the department received the emergency call through MERS999 at 1.26am, in the morning.
“The house involved in the fire measured 60x80 square feet and was 40pc damaged, while a vehicle in the same area was completely destroyed.
“The six residents managed to evacuate before the fire grew stronger, and none of them reported any injuries,” he said in a media statement.
The team put out the fire using two 200 feet streams with three spouts, using water from the water tank vehicle.
They managed to put the fire under control around 3am in the morning, and operations ended fully at 3.56am.
The cause of the fire as well as the losses are still under investigation.
