
SANDAKAN: A six-foot crocodile weighing almost 60kg was caught under the basement of an overwater house in Kampung Tinusa 1, Mile 7, on Wednesday.
District Civil Defence Force (APM) Captain (PA) Sulaiman Salama said a team of APM personnel rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call at 11.32am via MERS999.
He said the managed to catch the crocodile by using a blanket to its sight and tied all parts of its body in a curved way using a rope.
“The process took about 10 minutes,” he added.
The crocodile was handed over to the Sabah Wildlife Department for further action.
