The portal also reported that 22 areas including Kedah, Terengganu, Kelantan and Johor recorded moderate API readings between 52 to 99.

As of 6pm, nine areas have recorded good API reading with most areas in Sarawak and Sabah.

An API reading of 0 to 50 indicates good air quality, 51 to 100 is moderate, 101 to 200 is unhealthy, 201 to 300 is very unhealthy, while readings above 300 are hazardous.

The public is advised to take precautions and reduce prolonged outdoor activities, particularly individuals who are more sensitive to the effects of poor air quality.
