Six statements taken in Kajang student assault case following road rage incident

POLICE have recorded the statements of six individuals in their investigation into the assault of a secondary school student, allegedly carried out by a travel advisor, after a traffic dispute in Saujana Impian, Kajang.

Kajang Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof, confirmed that the individuals who provided statements include the victim, the suspect, and a witness.

"The court granted a one-day remand order for the suspect, who has no prior criminal record," he said in a statement on Saturday, March 15.

The incident took place on Friday, March 14, when a 17-year-old student claimed he was attacked by an unidentified male driver in the Saujana Impian area.

The teenager sustained a fractured nose and was treated at Kajang Hospital. It was also revealed that the student did not possess a valid driving licence and was later issued a traffic summons for this infraction.

The 39-year-old suspect was arrested in Kajang, Selangor, at approximately 9:50 PM on Friday night. He is being investigated under Section 325 of the Penal Code for causing grievous hurt and Section 279 for reckless driving. - March 15, 2025
