
HANGZHOU: Sixteen Sabah athletes are currently with the Malaysian contingent taking part in the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.
Sailor Muhammad Asnawi Iqbal Adam is the only medal winner so far after delivering a bronze in the ILCA 4 single handed event.
The other Sabahans in the contingent are divers Jellson Jabillin (10m platform), Gabriel Gilbert Daim (1m springboard), men’s hockey team players Shello Silverius,
Muhajir Abdu Rauf, Abdul Khaliq Hamirin and Juliani Mohamad Din (women’s hockey team), Cassandra J Poyong (Jiu-jitsu women’s -57kg), Niathalia Sherawinne Yampil and Nancy Nelly Ewaferra Rojin (karate women’s kata team), Lovelly Anne Robberth (karate individual kata and team), Wong Co Wan (archery compound individual and mixed team), Fatin Nurfatehah Mat Salleh (archery compound individual and mixed team), Muhammad Safiq Busthamin (archery recurve individual, men’s team and mixed team), Andre Anura @ Anuar (athletics men’s long and triple jump) and Nur Aishah Rofina Aling (women’s 4x100m relay) who did not feature in the quartet that won the bronze on Tuesday.
