Skoda has introduced a new flagship EV model with its seven-seater Peaq. Set to go on sale in September, the Peaq arrives with a range of up to 640 km and the ability to charge from 10 to 80% in around 28 minutes.

Skoda has already confirmed Peaq prices in some markets - such as £51,980 in the UK or €49,900 in Germany - with SE L, Edition and SportLine and the option of either two- or all-wheel-drive.

On the outside, the Peaq follows a similar design theme to the Epiq, Elroq and Enyaq, with a ‘Tech-Deck’ face which uses vertical slats and LED backlighting. It’s also available with full LED headlights and alloy wheels ranging from 19 to 21 inches. It also gets flush door handles – the first time that they’ve appeared on a Skoda car – which retract automatically when the car is locked or in motion.

Measuring in at just under three metres, the Peaq offers up to 299 litres of boot space with all seven seats in place, or 890 litres with the rearmost seats folded flat. Folding all rows of seats down increases this to 2,075 litres. There’s also a 37-litre ‘frunk’ under the bonnet of the car for charging cable storage.

As with other Skoda models, the Peaq will be offered with different ‘Design Selections’ that change the look and feel of the interior. It also now gets an Android-based infotainment system, which means that popular apps such as Spotify, YouTube and Google Maps are included without the need to connect a smartphone.

It’s all displayed on a 13.6-inch portrait infotainment system, matched to a 10-inch digital driver display. It’ll be included as standard on all cars, alongside 19-inch wheels, LED headlights and heated front and rear seats.

Edition-spec cars will add black leather, matrix LED headlights and a horizontal light band up front. At the top of the list is the Peaq SportLine. It gets a more dynamic exterior design courtesy of 20-inch alloy wheels, black detailing and revised suspension with Skoda’s Dynamic Chassis Control system. Sport seats and a heated steering wheel are also included at this grade.
