Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has praised Sabah Kinabalu Pink Ribbon (SKPR) for establishing The Pink Haven, a support centre for breast cancer patients and caregivers undergoing specialised treatment here.
His speech was delivered by Assistant Community Development and People's Wellbeing Minister Datuk Rina Jainal at the facility's opening ceremony on Saturday.
Hajiji described the centre as a "home away from home" that provides dignity, comfort, and relief for patients travelling from rural areas and other parts of Sabah for medical care.
He noted that a RM300,000 state grant approved two years ago helped bring the facility into operation, turning compassion into practical assistance.
Hajiji also commended SKPR founder and patron Datin Lucilla Pang, whose personal journey as a survivor inspired the association's formation in 2010.
