Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Law Society (SLS) launched a publication and digital repository on Sabah’s 40 per cent constitutional entitlement at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) on Saturday.
SLS President Datuk Mohamed Nazim Maduarin (pic), said the publication, MA 1963: Sabah’s 40% Constitutional Entitlement – Cause Papers, High Court, compiles cause papers from SLS’ judicial review proceedings concerning the entitlement for the financial years 1974 to 2021.
“We believe that Sabah’s constitutional history should be preserved accurately and made accessible so that present and future generations can read the record for themselves,” he said.
Nazim said the accompanying SLS MA63 Repository provides a digital platform to preserve relevant legal materials and make them more accessible, while the launch was held alongside a forum featuring SLS legal team members Dr David Fung and Jeyan Marimuttu, moderated by former SLS President Datuk Roger Chin.
He said the proceedings began in 2022 and the High Court allowed SLS’ judicial review application on Oct 17, 2025, granting, among other relief, an order requiring a review concerning the 40 per cent entitlement for the financial years 1974 to 2021, with further legal processes subsequently following.
