SMC Tollways net income hits P705M in 2025

SMC Tollways Corp.’s net income rose by 7.69 percent to P705.2 million in 2025, driven by higher toll revenues.

The company also posted consolidated total revenues of P22.43 billion, a 6-percent increase from P21.17 billion in 2024.

“Higher revenue was mainly due to higher traffic volume,” SMC Tollways said in a statement.

In 2025, traffic volume increased across all classes, with SMC Skyway Corp. reaching an annual average daily traffic (AADT) of 284,466, 3 percent up from 276,850 a year earlier.

During the same period, SMC Skyway Stage 3 Corp. (MMSS3) achieved an AADT of 179,763, marking a 10-percent increase from 163,031.

The consolidated cost of services grew by P240.5 million, or 4 percent, primarily due to higher government fees resulting from increased revenues at SMC Skyway and MMSS3, alongside a rise in contracted services for manpower and RFID subscriber management.

These increases were partially offset by a decline in repairs and maintenance costs following the reclassification of maintenance services into contracted services.

Consolidated operating expenses were said tom have reached 291.1 million, driven by higher management fees from additional allocations, increased taxes and licenses due to a higher revenue tax base, a rise in third-party contracted services, and expanded corporate communication and advertising costs.

These expenses were mitigated by a reduction in personnel costs due to a lower headcount and a decrease in other expenses, such as utilities, fuel, oil and general maintenance.

Meanwhile, consolidated construction revenue and costs increased by P244.6 million, or 11 percent, attributed to higher expenditures for the MMSS3 Quirino SB on-and-off ramps, the MMSS3 Section 2A Prime and Skyway widening projects.
